Punches and Strikes
Jab
Strike with the fist of the front hand using the top two knuckles.
Cross
Strike with the fist of the rear hand using the top two knuckles.
Uppercut
Strike with the fist of either your front or rear hand using the top two knuckles in a vertical motion.
Hook
Strike with the fist of either your front or rear hand using the top two knuckles in a horizontal motion.
Palm
Strike with the palm of either the front or rear hand keeping their fingers together.
Kicks
Front Snap Kick
From a fighting stance bring front leg up in chamber position, snap out from knee down using the ball of your foot or the toes then bring knee back to chamber position as you return to your original position.
Back Kick
From a fighting stance bring your rear leg up in a chamber position as you lean forward, push the kick back pulling the toes back and pushing the heel out then return to chamber and set down.
Side Snap Kick
From a fighting stance bring front leg to chamber position and snap out to the side using the heel of the foot, rechamber and set down.
Front Thrust
From a fighting stance bring rear leg to chamber position, push hips forward as you kick out using the ball of the foot to strike with, rechamber and land forward.
Side Thrust
From a fighting stance bring front leg up in a chamber position then turn hips as you strike down with your kick, striking with the heel of the foot.
Wheel Kick
From a fighting stance bring leg up in a chamber position as you rotate hips over, snap kick out striking with the shin.
Stances
Attention Stance
Feet together with your arms relaxed at your sided.
Horse Stance
Feet shoulder width apart with hands in chamber position.
Fighting Stance
Front toes are in line with the back heel.
Foot Maneuvers
Step Drag
Without changing stances, take your front leg and step forward, letting the back leg drag.
Drag Step
Without changing stances, take your rear leg and step backward, letting the front leg drag.
Pivot
Torque your hips to set up for a strike.
Blocks
Inward Block
Bring hand up to your ear, fist facing inward striking towards and past the center line.
Outward Block
Bring hand up to your opposite ear, fist facing inward, striking past and away from the center line.
Downward Block
Bring hand up to your opposite ear, fist facing inward, striking in a downward arc towards and past the center line.
Upward Block
Punch hand upward, roll hand over so that fist is out and forearm is at a 45 degree angle.
Parry Block
As the strike comes in, slap it away using the palm of your hand.
Windmill Block
Use one hand to parry as the other hand comes underneath to do a brush block or grab.
Brush Block
As the strike comes in, slap it away using the back of your hand.
